Volunteer with St. John’s Church Preservation Group

St. John’s Church preservation group has the following new volunteer opportunities available:

Church Reception
Meet and greet, keep the church clean and tidy, keep the candles lit, record keeping, making refreshments, handle money.  Be interested in talking about local history and the St. John’s project.

Candles and Altar Care
Keep candles lit.  Keep the area clean.  Ensure supplies of prayer and remembrance slips and candles.  Change altar cloths.

Frontage
Litter pick, weed and sweep the church frontage, car park and paths around the Church.

Grounds Maintenance
Strimming, mowing, edging, sweeping, litter picking, keeping graves weeded.

Wildlife Care
Keep water supplies topped up and create and maintain water stations plan.  Make and maintain insect hotels.  Create  bird bath areas and feeding areas.

Operational Support
Administration and IT skills needed (Word, Excel).  Will also cover and be familiar with all areas of the project as needed.  Maintain and control volunteer rota.

Events Team
Includes weekend work mainly.  Assist with outreach and fundraising and events in the Church.

Donation Sorters
Will work with the sorting and assessment team leader.
