Do you enjoy helping others and supporting your community? Are you organised, tech-savvy, and have a passion for sustainability? Or do you like repairing tools and equipment and finding a new purpose for items? If so, volunteering at Brierley Hill Library of Things could be the perfect opportunity for you!
About Us:
Brierley Hill Library of Things is being set up as a community venture in conjunction with – Black Country Cohousing – a new group looking to build affordable, accessible and sustainable cooperatively owned homes in the Black Country. We want to provide the people of Brierley Hill and beyond with a library of everyday items, particularly those items we only use on an occasional basis, for borrowing instead of buying, promoting sustainability and affordability in our community. We offer a wide range of items, from tools and appliances to sporting equipment and camping gear, all available for members to borrow.
Volunteer Roles:
We have a variety of volunteer tasks available, allowing you to contribute your skills and interests:
Item Management: Help keep our inventory organised and in top condition. Receive returned items, check for damage, and restock shelves.
Member Services: Welcome and assist members, answer questions, process loans and returns, and ensure a smooth borrowing experience.
Marketing and Outreach: Help us spread the word about our library! Assist with social media, create flyers and posters, or attend community events.
Special Events: Support our community events by setting up, taking down, and participating in activities.
Technical Support: Assist with troubleshooting our online system, website, or any technology problems.
