OPP OF THE DAY: Independent Panel Members, W. Mids Police and Crime Panel

We are looking for two independent panel members to scrutinise the work of the West Midlands Police and Crime Commissioner and ensure the police is run effectively and community needs are met.

Applicants must live or work in the West Midlands and:

• Have relevant community-based experience, or understanding of community safety, policing, and criminal justice issues.

• Can act as a non-party-political voice working with elected councillors to scrutinise and constructively challenge.

• Can attend around six meetings a year.

Four-year appointment. Training provided.

Currently a voluntary role with travel expenses covered (Allowances under review)
