What you’ll be doing:
· Sharing your skills and community experience with our employees and volunteers.
· Creating and strengthening relationships with communities and individuals.
· Taking part in events and talking to groups or at a meeting, to raise awareness of dementia and the support services available.
· Helping to identify people affected by dementia and their carers who can share their dementia story with their wider community and Alzheimer’s Society.
· Signposting people from communities to access the services that are provided by Alzheimer’s Society.
This role will suit you if you:
· Have a confident and friendly approach and are committed to including people from all backgrounds treating them with dignity and as individuals.
· Have a good knowledge and understanding of the local community.
· Would like to develop an understanding of the barriers to seeking dementia related support.
· Have excellent communication skills and be able to talk to a variety of audiences (the ability to communicate in languages other than English is not essential but may be helpful).

What we need from you:
To ensure the safety and security of people with dementia we ask for:
· One reference and proof of identity.
· To put the role into practice most effectively and to ensure a consistent service for people living with dementia this role is recommended to continue for at least 6 months.
· Learning to enable you to be effective in the role will take about 2 hours.
· You will need your own computer, internet access and phone.
