OPP OF THE DAY: Activity Assistant, YMCA Black Country Group (Wren’s Nest Navigators Project)

The activities assistant will attend project activity sessions with the aim of providing support to the session worker. This could include encouraging participation and positive behaviour choices with participants, taking the register at the beginning of a session, assisting with setting up and packing away activity materials.

There will be a need for the activity assistant to communicate effectively with young people during all sessions and as such safeguarding and child protection policies must be understood and followed.

Our participants to sessions range from newborn baby to adults, and we have a wide variety of activities to cover all ages and needs.

Full training will be given and a full DBS check will be required (no cost involved).

We use various locations to host our activities, but our main locations are Wrens Nest and Priory Estates.

When:

There are no official qualifications required. Applicants must be good at communicating with people, approachable, able to use initiative.
