Helping you to help others.

OPP OF THE DAY: Activities Assistant – YMCA Wrens Nest Navigator Project

We would love to recruit helpers who live in the Wrens Nest area to support our project and help us reach more people living in the area. After completing core training, helpers will be introduced to the project session staff and will assist with session delivery; activities range from football coaching through to cooking, youth club and baby sensory group. You may be asked to assist with the setting up and taking down of equipment, preparation and clearing of an activity area. Whatever your skills are there’s bound to be something you could help with.

We may also ask helpers to provide support and motivation to participants during the activity, and depending on your experience the session worker may ask you to lead part of the activity. All helpers will be expected to positively engage with participants (young people and families) and provide encouragement and support throughout the duration of any sessions being delivered.

Where:
Wren’s Nest – Dudley (various public/community locations, e.g. Church, youth club and other locations in the area).

When:
Various activity sessions are delivered throughout the week, lasting between 2-3 hours. Helpers are asked to commit to at least one activity session per fortnight.

Commitment/Duration (min/max period):
A commitment to assist with at least one session per fortnight for a minimum of 3 months is requested due to training and scheduling requirements.
